Financial crisis impacts Arts

Global Financial crisis impacts not only real (auto industry) and unreal (stock market) sectors of economy but it also has severely impacted Arts recently, especially painting:

Christie’s International sold for 10 pounds ($15.40) an artwork earmarked to fetch 2,000 pounds at its auction of Russian art in London, summing up the mood at yesterday’s sale which missed the low forecast by almost half.

Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky’s hand shot up when auctioneer James Bruce-Gardyne, exasperated by the salesroom’s cold response all day, gestured toward the piece “Troika Leaving the Farmstead” and asked, “Will anyone give me 10 pounds?”

“It was the bargain of the century,” said a triumphant Lobanov-Rostovsky, 73, a prince and one of the most prominent Russian art collectors in Europe whose collection with former wife Nina was bought by a Kremlin-controlled foundation in St Petersburg earlier this year. In addition to the hammer price, he paid a 3-pound commission on the undated ink-on-paper picture by an unidentified Russian artist.

Christie’s couldn’t confirm if it’s the cheapest lot the company has ever sold.

Probably all creative artists should receive 50 billion bailout from the US Government before the US auto industry will get 25 billion bailout .

Russian nuclear weapon VS American nuclear weapon

There are lots of debates about a nuclear weapons. Of course the most interesting question is Who has the most powerful nuclear weapon Russia or USA?

Our KGB officer obtained the latest information about US nuclear weapon therefore I am going to disclose today the most powerful nuclear explosion made by US. A cutting-edge technology was implemented in this secret weapon therefore it has very dangerous and destructive effect within seconds or minutes of a nuclear detonation. We call this effect "Consumptive Radiation" because all people in the radius of 500 miles start to spend all money on the products they do not really need, live in credit they can not maintain as they forget what the saving account is and the consumption become the sense of their life.

Russian nuclear weapon is not so insidious. It is the old-fashioned way like this:

Charles, Prince of Wales

Prince Charles celebrated his 60 anniversary a few days ago. Dmitry Medvedev invited him to Moscow in order to have a really good fun-time with me and Dmitry. Because all Buckingham Palace's parties are utterly boring. Unfortunately, Charles could not come as he had reserved table in a restaurant for all royal family. Yesterday he send a few pictures from this party to Dmitry Medvedev.

Unfortunetly, Dmitry promised to Charles to keep it in the secret but
I am going to post these exclusive pictures today as I can easily access Dmitry's computer (KGB training) and I did not give any promises.

Teleconference with ordinary people

I like to hear what ordinary people think about Russian Government and my work especially so I organize teleconference where anybody can call and ask me any question or tell me his opinion about my work.

Translation of the dialog for non Russian-speaking readers:
Reporter: Hello, please introduce yourself
Old Lady: I am not going to speak with you. I will speak only with Putin
Reporter: Vladimir Vladimirovich is listening you. Ask your questions.
I: I am listening you... Hello
Old Lady: Is it you?
I: Yes
Old lady: Is it really you?
I: Right. It's me
Old Lady: Oh my God, thank you very much... Thank you very much for everything what you did... (she hung up the phone)
I: Thank you for your words. Everything what you said is an evaluation of my work. It is also the evaluation of my co-workers' work. But a lot of things still has not been done. I promise that we will do everything in order to realize our goals.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Nord Stream

I got a tremendous number of questions about my meeting with the famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. People wonder why I spent time to discuss Eurovision problem with Andrew. I even promised to give my vote for the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2009 in Moscow as Andrew composes songs for the UK Eurovision team. As you way know my vote is approximately 70% of Russian population vote therefore 12 points from Russia is guaranteed to the UK at this Eurovision. Also I will try to promote Andrew’s song in Belarus, Armenia and Moldova then the UK will get at least 10 points from each of these country.

Why I will do all of these “strange” things? As you may know Russian Government has a huge problem to build Nord Stream gas pipeline to link Russia and Germany and the Baltic Sea as Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have all lobbied to reroute the pipeline. Andrew Lloyd Webber has a strong influence in the Parliament of the United Kingdom therefore Andrew can help us to promote Nord Stream pipeline in order to Gordon Brown put some pressure to some European countries. If this project is still blocked by some of these countries then all of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs will be not available for sell in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Dima Bilan from Russia won Eurovision 2008

Money as debt by Paul Grignon

Some comments from director of this astonish movie Paul Grignon:

Born in Toronto, Canada in 1948, I first became suspicious of our money system when I was in high school in Ottawa. We were studying logarithmic functions such as interest and it struck me that a money system in which money accrues interest at every turn could only function with exponential growth of the money supply. Something did not make sense to me. I wasn’t sure what it was but I had a strong feeling that banking was a scam designed to benefit bankers at the expense of everyone else. I vowed never to get into debt to bankers.

As fortune would have it I got to (mostly) fulfill that vow. As a hitchhiking, backpacking young adult I was led to Gabriola, a forested coastal island off British Columbia, Canada where the building code was not yet in effect. My partner and I were able to take up residence in a tent, then a shack and as the years went by, and our four children arrived, our primitive shelter without water or power gradually evolved into a modest but comfortable owner-built paid-for home. This was achieved on a sporadic income that would never have been sufficient to buy a home had we gone the conventional mortgage route

Coca-Cola in Russia

Crazy things can be done with Coca-Cola. Some people use it for hiccup cure, an ancient coin cleaner, a grass greener and even for contraceptive. Russian scientists proved that Coca Cola is the best killer of injurious insects. As result our Ministry of Agriculture has an exclusive contract with Coca-Cola Inc for supplying the “brown liquid” to every farm in Russian Federation.
